So far this year, 324 rhinos have been illegally killed in South Africa, usually shot by organized gangs of criminals who sever the rhino horns for trafficking to Vietnam and China. The slaughter this year is expected to far exceed the record total of 333 rhinos killed by poachers last year.
Monate private game reserve is set in 1839 hectares of bush and open plains – home to leopard, cheetah, rhino, buffalo, crocodile, hippo, giraffe, zebra, brown hyena and a large variety of antelope. As dedicated game rangers we are strongly opposed to the slaughter of rhino throughout South Africa. This blog is a resource for all who wish to know more and who want to become involved in saving our rhinos.
